Quan Tanh Temple

The guardian.

The Quan Thanh Temple in Hanoi city is also called the Tran Vu Temple as it is dedicated to Huyen Thien Tran Vu, the guardian of North Vietnam. According to legend, Tran Vu helped King An Duong Vuong to cast out the demons during the construction of the Coloa citadel.

The temple has a majestic entrance with three doors guarded by the statue of a tiger. A three metre high statue of Huyen Thien Tran Vu dominates the interior of the temple. The temple is further adorned with many wooden sculptures.

The faithful come to the temple during the Lunar New Year to pray for happiness, good luck and good health.
